- Consult Expectations:
- Surgery Assist: Surgical team is provided by the main OR currently
- OB/GYN Hospitalist Duties:Care of unassigned OB-GYN patients
- Assess all unassigned triage patients
- Assess all OBED patients (if the OBED is in place)
- Obstetric admissions
- Labor management and deliveries
- Postpartum and GYN rounding and discharge
- Arranging follow up care
- Inpatient and ER consults
- Assist on emergent GYN surgeries (with backup present to cover GYN surgeries as primary surgeon)
- Supervise Certified Nurse Midwives in the hospital setting, if applicable
- Assume care of maternal transfers and collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Manage or assist with obstetric emergencies for all patients on L&D
- Assist on C-sections with community clinicians, when available Collaborate and engage community OB-GYN physicians in the care of their obstetric patients when available
- Call coverage for the community physicians, based on availability and when patient volume/acuity permits (not offered in the first 3 months after program ‘go-live’ date
