Emergency Medicine Opportunity – Multi-Hospital Community System (Rhode Island)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Active Rhode Island license required
- Cross-credentialing required across two affiliated hospitals
- ABEM/BEEM only
- ACLS required
- PALS required at primary campus
- 8-hour Stroke CME required
- Two-step PPD required
Hospital A – Community Medical Center (Urban RI)
Facility Overview:
- ~32,000 annual ED visits
- Approx. 1.8 patients per hour
- 25 ED beds
- 120 hospital beds
- ~19% admission rate
- No trauma designation
- No scribe coverage
Coverage Model:
- 26–27 physician coverage hours daily
- 22 APP coverage hours daily (10a–8p; 11a–11p)
Shift Structure:
- 7a–3p
- 2p–11p or 3p–11p
- 9p–7a or 11p–7a
- 8–10 hour standard shifts
- 10–12 hour shifts can be accommodated for locums (note preference in presentation)
Specialty Backup:
Broad on-site support including Anesthesiology, Cardiology, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Pulmonology, Radiology, and additional subspecialties.
Hospital B – Community Medical Center (Suburban RI)
Facility Overview:
- ~30,000 annual ED visits
- Approx. 1.8 patients per hour
- 23 ED beds
- 135 hospital beds
- No trauma designation
- Meditech EMR with Dragon dictation
- No scribe coverage
Coverage Model:
- 30 physician coverage hours daily
- 10 APP coverage hours daily
Shift Structure:
- 7a–5p
- 1p–11p
- 9p–7a
- 10-hour shifts
