Emergency Medicine Nocturnist Opportunity – Coastal Multi-Site Health System (South Carolina)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

• Nocturnist coverage only (7p–7a)
• Cross-credentialing required across multiple sites
• 12+ months of anticipated coverage need
• 12-hour night shifts

SYSTEM OVERVIEW:

• ~110,000 annual visits across 4 EDs
• ~70 ED beds across system
• ~2.4 patients per hour at main campus
• ~70 APC coverage hours daily across system
• Meditech EMR with MModal dictation
• No scribe coverage
• Transition orders utilized (no bridge/admit orders)

SITE STRUCTURE:

Main Campus – Level I Trauma Center

• Large regional referral center
• Comprehensive specialty backup
• Majority of nocturnist shifts at affiliated non-trauma freestanding EDs

Freestanding ED Sites (3 Locations):

• Annual volumes range ~16,000–31,000
• No trauma designation
• No on-site specialty backup
• 12-hour shifts
• Transfer to main campus for higher-acuity cases

CREDENTIALING REQUIREMENTS:

• ABEM/BEEM only
• Life Certification Requirements: ACLS/BLS
